Homework 13.9.13

There are three spelling groups, Prefixes, Suffixes and Syllables. Every child knows which group they are in and have written their group down in their homework book. This week we have been looking at two syllable words containing double consonants.
Prefixes – Getting, Happy, Puppy, Sorry, Running, Swimming, Daddy, Hundred, Thousand, Million.
Suffixes – Cotton, Grabbed, Kissed, Fussed, Cherry, Coffee, Messy, Hundred, Thousand, Million.
Syllables – Diner, Dinner, Biter, Bitter, Coma, Comma, Writing, Written, Thousand, Million.
Friday 13th September 2013
Homework is due back on Wednesday 18th September and spellings will be tested on Friday 20th September.
English – Write a description of a room in your house using as much description as possible. Remember to use adjectives, similes and metaphors. E.g. “The playground was made of gravel that sparkled in the sunlight like crushed diamonds on black velvet. The Children lined up ready to go inside like an army poised to do battle. The newly painted classroom was as fresh as the ocean breeze on a bright winter’s morning.
Maths – The Dice Place Value Game. (See separate sheet.)
