These weeks are zipping by, we’ve had great fun presenting our ideas for a game show and persuading others to watch it. I have been sooo proud of you all and enjoyed watching groups working in such a productive way. Well done.
In English your homework is to design a poster to encourage people to watch your show, remember to include when the show is being broadcast and who the target audience is.
Maths: Practise adding and subtracting 10, 100, 1000 to 3 and 4 digit numbers.
This week we are learning the ‘sure’ sound at the end of words.
Could I also ask that you start collecting any large plastic lids, such as lids of drinking chocolate/Marmite, boxes of chocolates etc. I hope you all have a great weekend.
What a week!! The reading festival was fantastic. It was brilliant seeing all your costumes on Monday and hearing about all of your favourite books. You have worked so hard on our traditional tale this week and I can’t wait to share it with your parents at 2.15pm on Monday afternoon.
Homework, due back on Wednesday 19th November 2014
In English this week we have been learning about writing instructions and explanations. One aspect of this type of writing is using imperative verbs or ‘bossy verbs’. So for homework, play Powerful Verb Pairs which will help you to think of interesting powerful verbs.
Maths: I have been really impressed with your maths this week, you have all been doing fantastic subtraction. For homework practise subtraction using decomposition. Don’t forget to always take the smallest number from the larger number. You may need to exchange from the tens and hundred column.
Spellings this week look at how words change from a verb to a noun when adding the suffix ‘ation. ‘
Hope you have a lovely weekend.
We have had the most fantastic week, thinking about books, reading books, taking time out to enjoy a good book and best of all sharing books! Why not tell your parents or a helper the story of Ki-pat and Kapiti Plain??
Don’t forget the Festival continues into next week with our Dress Up Day on Monday and if you haven’t already done so, please bring in your extreme reading pictures.
Homework this week is to READ!!! Please read at least 3 times to an adult and record it in your reading diary. I will collect your diaries in on Wednesday.
Please continue to learn your shape words ready for a test on Friday next week.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the fireworks.
